Here at Marco Small Pet Rescue, we not only adore animals but have an ethical responsibility to our community and animal welfare to help rescue and re-home abused, neglected and abandoned pets into loving families.
We started as a very small, self funded, rescue team in early 2023 after noticing a great influx of surrender and abuse cases, after volunteering with many local rescues. You can read more About Us here.
Animal care is our forte! All our Pet Services Team are vetted before their account is approved, and we often visit them in person, chat over the phone or arrange a zoom call prior to their first booking. This ensures they understand the level of care MSPR expect for your fur-babies, as well as giving them all the support they require to be an amazing Pet Service team member of MSPR.
Marco Small Pet Rescue has liability insurance to add an extra level of coverage to your pets whilst in our Pet Service team members care. We also have legal protocols that team members must adhere to in the case of a medical emergency or injury.
Pet Sitter
A Pet Sitter is where your beloved pet/s go on holiday at the Pet Sitters home. They stay in the Pet Sitters home for the duration of their holiday. ALL Pet Sitters homes have their garden fencing checked for security and are required to house your pets inside. We do not allow any pets to be left outside the Pet Sitters home. We want your pets holiday stay to be as stress free and comfortable as possible.
Pet Minder
A Pet Minder is where the the minder will come to your home and stay with your pet/s whilst you are away. This is a great option for people and families that have a number of pets or a garden that needs to be watered or tended to until your return. It is also a good option for pet/s who suffer anxiety, as they remain in their own home environment.
Absolutely! We encourage you to set up a meet and greet where you can meet your Pet Sitter, Minder or Walker and make sure you all get along swimmingly and more importantly they understand the needs and requirements of your pet/s whilst you are away. During your Meet and Greet, you are encouraged by MSPR to view the Pet Service Providers home and fencing if they are a Minder and ask as many questions about their experience with animals as possible. We only hire seasoned animal lovers at MSPR, but feel free to ask any question you feel is necessary to ensure you pet is cared for in the most exceptional manner.
If in the unfortunate event that your pet/s experience a medical emergency or require veterinary care, our Pet Service member will follow the urgent care MSPR protocol. When you sign up to look for a Pet Service provider through MSPR, you fill out an information form in which you list your preferred veterinary clinic and emergency after hours veterinary clinic. The Pet Service member will take care of your pet/s as if they are their own and update you on their condition, treatment regularly. They will also update our MSPR team members, and our team will seek our veterinary teams expert opinions and treatment options if required.
As we are a Rescue, we have seen heinous cases, so emergency veterinary care comes as second nature to us. Your pet will always receive the best care possible whilst you are away
and you will be notified of associated costs prior to approving treatment, unless in a critical care emergency situation, where time is of the essence.
You help save lives whilst using MSPR’s Pet Services!
After our lovely animal carers have looked after your pet/s during their holiday stay and payment is to be released, 20% of the final amount of your pet/s holiday stay is donated to our rescue. This means that while your pet stays with a MSPR Service member, you are helping save a rescue animals life. Those profits go directly to our rescue’s urgent care costs such as veterinary bills and vital supplies.
